Stand Loss
Although seeds may be viable during germination tests, a certain percentage of seeds may be lost due to other natural or mechanical factors such as insects, improper soil contact from excess plant residue or rocks, root diseases, wheel tracks, damer dike, etc. Ideal soil conditions, seed placement, and pest control can limit % stand loss.
