Primary Uses

TriMark® 336 has shown excellent adaptability to all production areas of eastern Washington.

Its aggressive growth characteristics have served it well in deep furrow planting in the dry zone, and in winter recropping in both the dry and intermediate zones. When combined with the stronger and deeper root system, it helps explain how TriMark® 336 has been very competitive with Eltan in gross dollars per acre in both of these situations. The stronger and deeper roots also help 336 to access more nitrogen late in the season, thus aiding in production of higher protein levels.

These same attributes also make TriMark® 336 attractive for direct seeding operations.

Area of Adaptability

Widely adaptable over all zones of eastern Washington dryland, plus irrigated. Adaptable after summer fallow and on winter recrop throughout the area.

Agronomic

Plant Height: 20% taller than Eltan

Straw Strength: Very Good

Yield: 152% of Eltan SWW wheat (7trials over 4 years planted on summer fallow ground in the dry and intermediate zones.)

Disease Resistance:

  • More tolerant to soil borne and foliar diseases than wheat
  • Susceptible to snow mold but has demonstrated ability to recover from the condition.

 

Markets: Through TriMark® triticale pool: Swine and poultry feed markets plus food markets

Feed Value:

  • Good Protein (12% to 16% depending on conditions & fertility)
  • Energy value is 3,522 TMEn KCAL / Kg on dry matter basis (U of Georgia tests)
